Q1: Is Reiki recognised by Swiss health insurance?


A: Reiki is generally not covered by Swiss basic health insurance (Grundversicherung).
Some complementary insurance plans may partially reimburse Reiki sessions, depending on the provider and the practitioner’s registration status. It’s best to check directly with your insurer.

Q2: Does distance Reiki work if I live in another part of Switzerland?


A: Yes. Reiki can be shared remotely (Fern-Reiki) with the same effect as in-person sessions.
Clients across Switzerland , from Zürich to Geneva, often report similar sensations of warmth, calm or deep relaxation. Creating a quiet and comfortable space during your session helps you receive the benefits more fully.

Q3: How many Reiki sessions are usually needed?
 

A: It depends on your goals and how your body responds. For general balance or stress relief, one session per month is common. For deeper emotional patterns or long-term transformation, many clients begin with 4–6 sessions and then reassess progress.

Q4: Is Reiki scientifically proven to work?
 

A: Reiki has been the subject of several studies exploring its impact on relaxation, stress reduction and quality of life. While research is still developing, many people report meaningful physical and emotional benefits. Links :

Q5: Is Reiki safe for everyone?
 

A: Yes, Reiki is gentle and non-invasive, making it suitable for people of all ages.
It doesn’t involve manipulation or medication and can safely complement medical treatments or psychotherapy. Some clients may experience temporary emotional release or mild fatigue, both are natural signs of energetic rebalancing. If you have specific health conditions, you can always discuss them with your practitioner before your session.

Q6: What should I do before my Reiki session?

A: There’s nothing special to prepare,  simply come in comfortable clothing and with an open intention.
You can reflect on what you’d like to release or invite more of (peace, clarity, grounding).
Reiki works best when you allow yourself to relax and simply receive.
